Blues legend, and reigning King of the Blues, B.B. King brings his signature sound to the SIU Arena. With his famous guitar “Lucille” at his side, King has earned 15 Grammy awards including a 1987 Lifetime Achievement Grammy. B.B.’s songs “The Thrill is Gone,” “Payin’ the Cost to be the Boss,” “Everyday I have the Blues,” and “Why I sing the Blues.” are not just blues classics, but enduring entries in the great American songbook.
Opening for the King is an artist who many site as B.B’s heir apparent: blues-rock guitar virtuoso, vocalist and songwriter Joe Bonamassa. Bonamassa kicked off 2007 with the honor of being named Best Blues Guitarist by Guitar Player Magazine’s readership in their annual Reader’s Choice Awards.
